In addition, we have a range of Canadian artists products which include printed cosmetic bags, yoga mat bags, handmade purses and local pottery items.

A South African with a keen eye for artisans and their craft arrived in Canada in the early 1980’s. She traded in these products sourced from Zululand, other places in South Africa, Ivory Coast & Zimbabwe. In the process a large collection of baskets, jewellery, sculptures, paintings, ostrich eggs, ceramics and pottery was collected. In the mid 80’s she returned to South Africa on personal business leaving her stock of arts and crafts untouched in a storage locker in downtown Toronto till July 2022.

The family connected with local Toronto friends looking for a suitable charity to donate this treasure trove. Friends suggested that Grandmothers Partnering with Africa would be a very fitting organization. They loved the idea of Canadian grandmothers supporting African grandmothers and that funds raised would go back to Southern Africa.
